5 Ways Lemons Can Help Your Beauty Routine

You may have known that lemons are good for you to eat and drink, but did you know all of these tips and tricks on how to incorporate them into your everyday life?

1. Deodorant

Wait, what? This may seem a little crazy, but it works. We tested it. The acidity of lemons helps cancel out any odor that may occur throughout the day. We don't recommend using it daily, but maybe 1-2 times out of the week as a more natural option. And try to avoid it on any day you shave, you could end up finding a cut you didn't know you had. Simply squeeze some juice onto a paper towel or washcloth and wipe under your arms, it may need a second to dry, but you'll smell lemony fresh!

2. Take a Bath

Adding a few slices into your tub can help balance the pH of your skin, along with cleansing and tightening tissues. Mix it with your favorite essential oils for a fully relaxing experience.

3. Face Mask

Create an easy mask that helps tighten and brighten skin, fade acne scars, even skin tone, and calm redness. Simply mix 1 tsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of raw (unfiltered) honey. Apply to a cleansed face for 20 minutes (or longer), wash, then moisturize.

4. Brighten Nails

Soak your nails in a combination of 1 tbsp lemon juice + 3 tbsp olive oil. The acidity from the lemon makes the nails appear whiter by removing build-up, while the oil hydrates.

5. Natural Highlights

Combine 1/2 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup water. Spray-on hair and sit in direct sunlight for 1-2 hours. PLEASE don't forget your sunscreen. Make sure to cover up and even wear a visor to help protect your skin.
